THE WASP AND THE BEE



Ans1. The problem faced by the wasp was that is that although he is better looking than the bee , the bee is loved more by everyone.


Ans2. The wasp is very handsome. His back has an elegant shape and is bright and yellow like gold. He also has a very delicate wing.

Ans3. The wasp aproaches the bee for advice so that everyone loves him too.


Ans4. The people don't like the wasp because of his ill temper and his sting which is very painful.

Ans5. The bee is small, homely and ordinary and has a small sting.

Ans6. The bee is liked by everyone because he is hard working ,good natured and has a small sting.

Agriculture And Industries In India

Ans 1. Agriculture is the process of growing crops, fruits and vegetables . It also includes rearing of cattle and other domesticated animals.

Ans 3. The two types of crops that are grown are:-
Food crops such as rice, wheat etc.
Cash crops like tea, jute etc.

Ans 4. Industries are important to us because :-

They convert raw materials into finished products.
They give jobs to people.
They help the country to earn money by selling products to other countries. This is called exporting.

A FISHY STORY

Ans a) 'They' refers to the eyes in the first line.

b) The eyes rested upon the dusty glass case.

  1. The eyes found a trout in the glass case .

  1. The narrator thought it to be a cod at the first glance.

    Ans a) The landlord is the speaker and he is speaking to George and the narrator.
b) They are the gentlemen who came to the inn and claimed to have caught the trout which was kept in the glass case.

  1. 'It' refers to the trout.
  1. No the story was not real because the trout was not a stuffed fish but made of plaster of paris.
D1. The remarkable thing about catching the trout , according to the local carrier was that he had caught it with a fly.


  1. According to the landlord the real story was that he had caught it himself, when he was a boy ,without any art or skill but sheer luck with a bit of string ,attached to the end of a tree.
  2. The strange thing at the end was that the trout fell and broke into pieces. If the trout was a real stuffed fish it would not have broken.
